I am also an accomplished portrait photographer. I capture intimate and truthful portraits of my subjects. Again my eye for natural and unposed photographs, helps me to draw out expressive and honest images that give a true reflection of the subjects personality.
I am currently working on two long form personal projects.
I am collaborating on an editorial project with my brother who is a writer. We are interviewing and photographing a series of people with unusual or non-typical jobs, lifestyles and professions. Examples include a traditional sign painter, a junior doctor, a musician and a tattoo artist. The goal is to compile these interviews and publish them as a book as well as online. The project so far can be seen on the Perryman & Perryman page of this site.
For more than a year I have been working with the charity Caritas Anchor House. They are a residential and community space in Canning Town in London, who provide support to the homeless community in the borough of Newham, one of the UK’s most deprived areas. I have photographed several events for them, including the opening of the newly built extension to their building. I also run a fortnightly photography workshop through which I am working with the residents to create a portrait of the charity and the community. This is a long term project and I am looking forward to seeing where it takes me and the group.
My commercial work, which is unapologetically stylised, has included events and portrait photography, for companies who would prefer a distinctive and bold visual signature to their images. I always deliver photographs that I am proud of and that are unequivocally in my style.
