The Luminor Sign Co is a sign shop in Bethnal Green, founded by lettering artist Ged Palmer. They specialise in 100% hand-lettered design, sign painting & gold leaf. The original Luminor Sign Co stood on the corner of Old St & City Rd in the East End of London. It closed in 1938. Today Luminor has been re-established with the aim of providing custom design, lettering and sign making to London and beyond.  Their Ethos is simple: to continue the tradition of quality design & sign painting in just the way it used to made before the advent of digital design. You can find out more about Ged and Luminor Signs here

These photographs accompany an interview and are part of an ongoing collaboration with writer Dylan Perryman (yep, he’s my twin brother). The work is a self-initiated exercise in craft and expression. Our aim is to understand and document the experiences of people who don’t work a typical 9-5. These are creative, inspiring and passionate individuals dedicated to their craft. We capture a glimpse of their lives the struggles and triumphs of taking a path less trodden. It’s a concept we developed together and we take equal responsibility in researching our subjects and arranging the shoots and interviews. The complete article can be found here.
