Velocity Vintage Drags is a biannual, two day, period drag racing spectacle. The event is soaked in the atmosphere of the bygone days of early hot rodding. The smell of combustion and burned rubber, the ping of the staging lights, the roar of fuel injection, then the explosion of movement.
The cars burn down 1/4 mile of tarmac on a disused runway at RAF Manston in Kent, that the team have lovingly cleared of weeds and debri. Saturday consists of a day of Grudge racing for all race participants. Sunday is the elimination event with cash prizes across three categories. Velocity Vintage Drags is the passion project of Mark Phillips. It is born of obsession, driven by determination and fueled by communitee.
